Meet Our Doctors
John D. West, DDS, MSD
Dr. John West is the founder and director of the Center for Endodontics. He is an internationally recognized educator, focusing on clinical interdisciplinary endodontics. Dr. West earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1971, where he serves today as an affiliate associate professor. After completing his D.D.S. degree, Dr. West received his master of science in dentistry in the field of endodontics from Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dentistry, where he now serves as clinical faculty, scientific endodontic editor for the school’s magazine, Communique, and as a member of the Board of Visitors.
In 1995 Dr. West was honored by Boston University with the Distinguished Alumni Award. He has taught more than 400 hours of continuing education to dental professionals in North America, South America, and Europe. Dr. West is co-author of the articles “Obturation and Radicular Space,” “Cleaning and Shaping the Root Canal System,” and “Pathways of the Pulp.” He also co-authored the book Endodontics with Dr. John Ingle.
Dr. West is a member of The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, The Northwest Network for Dental Excellence, and The International College of Dentists. He serves on the advisory boards of The Journal of Advanced Esthetics and Interdisciplinary Dentistry, The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry, and the Journal of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry.
When Dr. West is not practicing or teaching endodontics, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
